STELCO signs MoU with SIWEC to facilitate staff training

State Electric Company Ltd (STELCO) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sifainge Welfare Company Pvt Ltd (SIWEC) to facilitate the training of STELCO staff in different fields.

At a ceremony held at STELCO Head Office on Tuesday (11 February 2025), STELCO’s MD Hussain Fahmy and SIWEC’s MD Colonel Ahmed Zubair signed the MoU on behalf of their respective companies.

Speaking at this event, STELCO’s MD highlighted the positive impact of the Leadership Enhancement Program held last year for STELCO staff in affiliation with SIWEC and MNDF. MD Fahmy noted how each of the company’s staff who have bravely attended to help citizens in need or to protect company property in recent incidents were staff who have been part of the Leadership Enhancement Program.

He emphasized on the management’s commitment to strengthening the leadership and capacity of STELCO’s full workforce through this program.

Speaking at the event, General Manager – Human Resources and Training Department, Hussain Faruhad noted that the trainings which would be facilitated through this MoU with SIWEC would play a crucial role in shaping the work ethics, increasing capacity and building team spirit among STELCO staff.

While 668 staff from STELCO have already completed the Leadership Enhancement Program at MNDF Girifushi Training Centre, STELCO aims to train all its staff through this program by the end of this year.

Under the MoU signed today, SIWEC will facilitate trainings for STELCO staff in different crucial areas including leadership, basic first aid, swimming and rescue, fire awareness, industrial firefighting, property and infrastructure security along with life coaching. Apart from this, SIWEC will also facilitate fire evacuation drills and provide STELCO with technical assistance in maintaining firefighting systems.
