Sewerage Services
Integrated Sewerage Management Systems
At STELCO, we are committed to operating safe, reliable, and sustainable sewerage services in selected islands across Kaafu, Alif Alif, Alif Dhaal, and Vaavu atolls—where STELCO is spearheading the development of sustainable sewerage solutions tailored to local needs. While the design and implementation of these systems are carried out by the Ministry of Environment and Tourism, and Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure, STELCO plays a key role in operating and maintaining the systems once they are officially handed over.

We currently provide sewerage services in several islands within these atolls, helping to improve public health, sanitation, and the overall quality of life for communities. Driven by innovation and a long-term commitment to sustainability, STELCO ensures every aspect of our sewerage services—planning, implementation, treatment, and disposal—is handled with care and environmental responsibility. Our goal is to foster a cleaner future, one island at a time.
Components of Sewerage Services
Integrated Sewerage Resource Management Systems
Sewer

Sewer Network

STELCO operates underground pipeline systems that transport wastewater from homes and businesses to treatment plants. These networks are built for efficiency, safety, and reliability—customized to suit the unique layout of each island.

Sewer Pump

Sewer Pump Stations

Where gravity flow isn’t feasible, our pump stations use energy-efficient systems to maintain consistent wastewater movement through the network. Automated controls and safety features ensure uninterrupted service.

Sewer Treatment

Sewer Treatment Plants (STP)

Our STPs treat wastewater using a combination of physical, biological, and chemical processes. The treated water is then either safely discharged or reused, in line with environmental and regulatory standards.
