Ahmed Shamah Rasheed appointed as Managing Director of STELCO
The Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) has appointed Mr. Ahmed Shamah Rasheed as the new Managing Director of State Electric Company Limited (STELCO).
Mr. Shamah brings extensive experience from both the public and corporate sectors. Prior to this appointment, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO), where he led key operational reforms and capacity-building initiatives. His background also includes service in local governance, equipping him with valuable insight into community needs and national development priorities.
His appointment comes at a time when STELCO is progressing with major initiatives to enhance electricity generation capacity, modernize the national grid, and advance sustainable energy integration. Effective leadership is essential as the company continues to strengthen operational reliability and meet the growing energy demands across the Maldives.
