STELCO Commences Major Upgrades to Electricity Networks in Malé City

State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) has officially announced the commencement of significant upgrades to the electricity networks within Malé City. This initiative aims to enhance electricity services in response to the growing demand, particularly during the peak season, which coincides with higher temperatures.
One of the key components of this upgrade involves the replacement of the existing 630 KVA transformer at the intersection of Majeedhee Magu and Sosan Magu with a more robust 1,500 KVA transformer. This upgrade will significantly increase the capacity of the substation, allowing for improved service delivery to the residents of Malé City.

Alongside this transformer replacement, STELCO has also announced plans to expand the overall capacity of the electricity distribution network. This expansion is aimed at ensuring that the network can meet the increasing energy demands of Malé’s growing population, particularly during the peak usage periods.
STELCO is committed to providing reliable and efficient electricity services and assures the public that these upgrades will result in a more stable and resilient power supply. The company continues to work diligently to improve the infrastructure and meet the evolving needs of Malé’s residents.
