STELCO Recreation Club holds AGM and Inaugural Ceremony for 2025
The newly reregistered STELCO Recreation Club (SRC) has held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and its inaugural ceremony for 2025.
On Tuesday (28th January 2025) the club held its first AGM since it was reregistered as STELCO Recreation Club (SRC); as it was initially known since 1997, having been run as STELCO Club in the recent years.
During the AGM, members voted on several amendments to the club’s bylaws and also passed the new flag, logo, colors and slogan for the club. While Red, Yellow and Blue were passed as colors of the club, “Strength in Unity, Excellence in Recreation”, was passed as the club’s slogan.
During the inaugural ceremony of the club for the year, members of the club’s executive committee presented the club’s activity calendar that schedules different sports and recreational activities for the year.
Speaking at the ceremony, SRC’s Chairperson and Managing Director of STELCO, Hussain Fahmy highlighted the role played by SRC during its glory days back in the late 1990s and early 2000s in shaping STELCO staff as a well-disciplined team with exemplary work ethics. He reiterated the club’s success; not only on a team level but also on an individual level where SRC’s members were important members of national teams in several sports.
Speaking at this ceremony, SRC’s Vice Chairperson and Deputy Managing Director of STELCO, Abdulla Nazir noted that the success of SRC is evident by the talented athletes it produced at national level over the years.
During the ceremony, SRC also launched their new website and released the club’s theme song.
